About Us

Poke Japan was created to fill the role of distributing Japanese Pokemon products around the world. Being half Japanese & half Kiwi (New Zealander) brothers, we grew up playing the Pokemon games and collecting the TCG cards in both countries, and quickly became huge fans of the franchise. We started with reselling cards online and expanded into selling other Pokémon goods. We are here to make it easy for you to buy these products from wherever, whenever.

Our Team

James is a jack of all trades type guy who first got into buying and selling Pokemon products online by himself at the tender age of 11. The reason was not to make money but to solve a problem, this problem was his strict parents not allowing him to play gameboy. Buying and selling online and making profit convinced his parents that he could play Pokemon silver and the rest is history.

He has also been in the national team for Karate and travelled the world with this until the age of 22 where he converted to play rugby professionally in Japan albeit a serious knee injury which got him back into selling Pokemon products!

He taught himself German after living there for 1.5 years during his Karate travels. He can also speak English and Japanese. In his spare time he likes to sketch, dance, cook, and dabbles in a bit of YouTube.

Leo is a big fan of anime and gaming, having grown up playing and collecting Pokemon cards including taking over his brother James’ collection when he left home. He is into competitive games such as Counter-Strike & League of Legends, and still plays occasionally, although he hasn’t had a lot of free time recently helping run Poke Japan.

Fashion is always a focus as you can see with his colorful hair and sneaker collection. He enjoys keeping up to date with the latest online trends and is an all-round internet savvy guy.

We are also working on our YouTube channel, Poké Japan. We create Pokémon related content, such as opening booster packs, challenges and other shenanigans in Tokyo. If you are a fan of the Pokemon TCG subscribe and watch our videos, as we give away Booster boxes and other limited Pokémon items every video!
